Secret Weapon Aluminum Polished Short Ram Air Intake System (307-202-101) by Weapon-R®. The Secret Weapon Intake was designed, to increase air intake volume to the engine. The concept is to create two different air velocity profiles, one traveling at higher speeds than the other. This technology increases air volume and speed to the engine, which naturally feeds the engine 3x more air than the conventional air intake system. The intake pipe is bent out of high quality 6061 Aluminum on their Automated CNC mandrel bender. Polished to a high show quality finish. To create an air intake system with the highest airflow possible, the engineers at Weapon-R experimented with basic laws of physics. They found that by creating two different air velocity profiles in the intake tube, both traveling at different speeds, it increased overall air speed and volume to the engine, naturally feeding the engine 3 times more air than a conventional air intake system. To implement this patented technology, Weapon-R CNC mandrel-bends 6061 aluminum to the desired shape, and then polishes it to a show quality finish. The intake tube is then matched with Weapon-R’s Secret Weapon air filter. The Secret Weapon air filter features a tuned velocity stack to increase velocity and decrease turbulence. The dramatic increase in airflow results in a greater increase in engine performance than would be possible with any other air intake system.

Weapon-R® Ram Air Kit II turns your air intake system into a Ram Air Intake. The Ram Air Intake brings cooler air to your intake system. Cold air is denser and contains more oxygen and cooler engine air inlet temperatures result in more power. Furthermore, the Ram Air tube is made from a high temperature fire resistant plastic, to resist heat soak which robs horsepower from your engine. The Ram Air Kit is easy to install. Just connect the hose to the top of the air filter, mount the velocity stack in the lower part of the grille and attach the hose.

No Extra Power

Reading my MAF sensor at redline with the factory air box then the Secret Weapon intake, there is no appreciable difference in the amount of air entering the engine. My car is an automatic so my 0-60 and quarter mile times are very even. There is again no appreciable difference between stock and the Secret Weapon. My stock air box had a dirty air filter in it. The only good thing is the very sweet and powerful sound the intake makes. It's not worth the $270 price of the intake. Your money is better spent elsewhere. I emailed Weapon-R and told them about the lack of extra air flow and the unchanged 0-60 and quarter mile times. They asked me to send pictures of my install and evidence of the lack of extra power. I asked what evidence would be acceptable and they quit responding.

It Did Good While It Lasted

Worked well had mine for about a year, until it recently just crumbled apart when taking it out to clean it one day. The cone (other than the mesh) that the intake filter is inside of is made of plastic and after a year of hot and cold days that plastic got brittle and broke. But for that year I had it, it worked well sounded good and I noticed a bit of a difference afterwards.

Happy with this Intake

Installation was pretty easy. My 2008 Corolla now sounds better and there is a slight, but noticeable power increase. I like it a lot so far.

Very Nice.

Taking out the stock intake was a pain and required some creativity, but the finished product was well worth the effort. Sounds very nice, low and rumbly.
