Universal Axe / Shovel Bracket (8007078) by Yakima®. Don’t get stuck in the mud without the right tools. This bracket hooks to your LoadWarrior or MegaWarrior basket so you can secure an axe or shovel while maximizing space and keeping the interior of your vehicle clean. Can you dig it? Attaches a single or double bit axe or shovel to Load / MegaWarrior Baskets.

If you're into 4-wheeling or camping, you never venture off-road without an axe and shovel. But those tools are bulky, cumbersome and dirty, so they can take up a lot of space and mess up the inside of your vehicle at the same time. If you have a Yakima LoadWarrior or MegaWarrior Roof Cargo Basket, you can get your axe and/or shovel out of your vehicle and stored up on the roof. The Axe/Shovel brackets mount the implement to the side of the basket, making it much more accessible when needed in the process. Your interior will stay cleaner and you'll have much more room for passengers and gear.

And because the axe or shovel is mounted on the side of the basket, the inside is still free to carry gear, just remember not to exceed the basket's weight limit. Everything needed for installation is supplied, including detailed instructions. The Axe/Shovel Bracket is backed by a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Warranty

This limited warranty covers all Yakima-brand products and rack components manufactured by Yakima Products, Inc. (Yakima), and is effective for as long as the original retail purchaser owns the product. This warranty terminates when the original retail purchaser sells or otherwise transfers the product to any other person.

Subject to Yakima’s inspection of the product, Yakima will remedy defects in materials and/or workmanship by repairing or replacing, at Yakima’s option, the defective product without charge for parts or labor, subject to the limitations and exclusions described in this warranty. Yakima may elect, at its option, not to repair or replace a defective product, in which case Yakima will issue to the original retail purchaser, at Yakima’s option, either a refund equal to the purchase price paid for the product, or a credit to be used toward the purchase of new Yakima products or rack components.

This warranty does not cover problems caused by normal wear and tear (including, but not limited to, scratches, dents, tears, or aesthetic oxidation of surfaces, or natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use), commercial use, accidents, unlawful vehicle operation, or modifications or repairs not performed or authorized by Yakima. In addition, this warranty does not cover problems resulting from conditions beyond Yakima’s control including, but not limited to, theft, misuse, overloading, or failure to assemble, mount or use the product in accordance with Yakima’s written instructions or guidelines included with the product or made available to the original retail purchaser.

Great Bracket for Axe/Shovel

Easy to install, no drilling or cutting. Just put together and use. The design fits utilities very snug, no rattling nor shaking. The black color design blends in very well with the rack. I absolutely love this bracket, I will be buying another one soon to install in the other side, and maybe even install one on the inside of the rack too. I strongly recommend this to anyone who buys the Yakima Rack.

Awesome Looks, Odd Build Quality

The shield itself looks great, but it is just a glorified piece of plastic that’s held on basically with zip ties. That said the volume of the wind in the cab of the truck is dramatically decreased, I’m pleased with the product in every way, just wish there was a way to lock it onto the bars. I don’t live in the nicest areas, and the name Yakima does draw a little attention.

On Lockdown

They were easy to install and I feel safe leaving my bike attached to my car without fear of theft during my post-ride meal with the team.
