Universal Roof Tracks by Yakima®. Roof mounted tracks allow the position of the rack towers and crossbars to be adjusted to best suit the load. These tracks are designed for use with Yakima Control Tower crossbar supports and Landing Pads. Tracks come with hardware and comprehensive instructions detailing the installation procedure, which involves drilling into the roof.
Installation
A track mounted roof rack gives you the versatility to position the crossbars as required to provide the best support for the gear you're carrying. To move the crossbars, just loosen the support towers and slide them in the tracks. These tracks are designed for use with Yakima Control Towers and Landing Pads.
The tracks come in 42" and 54" lengths with plusnuts for installation on sheet metal. Plusnuts are designed for blind installation where access to the underside of the roof is not possible, which would be the most common installation on the roof of a car, truck or SUV. 54" and 60" length tracks are available for installation with cap nuts on fiberglass. This installation is designed for applications where the underside of the mounting surface is accessible, such as a camper shell or pickup bed cap. In both instances installation requires drilling into the mounting surface.
Tracks come with hardware and detailed, illustrated instructions. They're backed by a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
