Product Details

FSD RV Shocks and Struts by KONI®. KONI introduces FSD, the first no-compromise shock absorber in the world. A revolutionary new technique which combines the benefits of firm and comfortable suspension in a single perfect shock absorber. KONI introduces a shocks kit consisting of front and rear shocks. Firm for sporty driving on even road surfaces. Comfortable for a smooth ride on uneven road surfaces.

Two characteristics that seemed diametrically- opposed, proved to be a source of inspiration for specialists from KONI. Following lengthy development and testing, the ultimate solution was reached: KONI FSD - Frequency Selective Damping. A revolutionary new technique whereby the benefits of both types of ride characteristics are combined in one perfect shock absorber. Banishing the disadvantages of the past. FSD shock absorbers; a smart suspension system adjusting automatically to road conditions as well as driving style. And all of this in a fraction of a second. FSD guarantees greater stability, greater control and thus greater driving pleasure. To learn more about how FSD works, click here. KONI reconfirms with the FSD innovation a leading position as innovative supplier of high-quality shock absorber products.

Vehicle damping has always been a compromise between comfort and road-holding. An obvious example is a Formula 1 racing car which offers the best possible road-holding but with minimal comfort. In a personal of sport car one expects to experience the ultimate in comfort, combined with safe road-holding. Minimum damping is required for your comfort whilst strong damping is needed for safe and stable driving. This conflict of goals can not be solved with conventional front and rear dampers.

KONl shock absorbers with Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology, have been specifically designed for personal and sport cars and they combine the ultimate in comfort and road-holding. The purely mechanical solution and thus the independence of electronic control components are the basis for the the first choice of KONl FSD High Performance Damper if you have to solve the familiar everlasting problem.

In standard shock absorbers the main damping characteristic is defined by the oil flow (I) going through the piston assembly. Combining it with the FSD feature, KONl added a special valve which is able to control a parallel oil flow next to the one going through the piston. This parallel oil flow (II) is closed by the FSD feature, giving a rise in damping force almost linear to the time that the piston is moving in one direction. Put simply: the FSD feature is a hydraulic amplifier that delays the build up of pressure. One could say that an extra tuning option has been created in order to get the best possible combination of handling and comfort. Since it is an integrated part of the hydraulic valve system inside the damper, no additional cables, sensors or any other electronic devices are needed to operate an FSD damper. FSD is the simplest and most economic way to significantly improve the ride and driving characteristics of every car. Certainly in comparison with costly systems which work on the basis of computer technology, complex electronics and sensors.

Top Quality
I installed this on a 2014 Ford Fiesta S with the 1.6l I4. I had previously installed these on a 2001 Mustang and I know they last about exactly 3 years. I had my mechanic install so I cannot explain how tough or easy install was but I'm sure it was simple. At the time of purchase I paired these with Godspeed traction S springs, my original springs with 140k were bent. At the time of purchase all I could afford were the Godspeed springs. I wish I could have bought HR super sport springs like I had in my Mustang. The springs are ok but these shock absorbers absolutely improve the handling of the car. I have had them installed 2 days and the difference in night and day. What I’m saying is even though I don’t have the best springs, the strut combo definitely improves dampening. My car is now quick!!! I didn’t realize just how much traction I was losing because of four blown shocks and struts and bent springs. Btw, these look sick installed. This was the first and definitely not the last time I buy from TRUCKiD. I’m very grateful for delivery and access to all the parts I could ever need.

Nice Shocks/Struts for the Price
I purchased a full set of the Koni STR.T Street shocks/struts for my 97 Honda Accord. They were paired with M2 lowering springs which gave the car a 2 in drop in the front and 1.75 in drop in the rear. So far the ride quality has been very nice. It is a little rougher than stock suspension but not too stiff or hard. Just right for every day driving. Depending on your wheels, the bright orange of the Koni shocks/struts is very visible when one is looking. But with a little bit of driving I imagine the dust and dirt of the road will tone it down somewhat. Overall, this is a real good product for the money. I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend them to anyone looking for a lowering shock/strut!

Koni Shocks
Koni has been my shock of choice since 1980 when I purchased my first Shelby Mustang. The brand has always been standard on road race and muscle cars. I recently purchased a 1993 BMW 325is. During the upgrade of the suspension I immediately thought of Koni. Again I am impressed with the quality and smooth ride, even with its heavy dampening.

Koni Shocks
The product when i received it seemed great. The struts and shocks were both Koni. The real problem i have was make sure you receive the right struts and shocks that are made for your car. I put in on the pull down my make, the class and all that. I received some for an Honda coupe verus for an Honda Civic to completely different thing when it comes to shock and struts. I trusted that i did everything on my part so when i received them i didn't think twice because they looked like the ones i ordered. I got them install my a profession mechanic. This is were you noticed the difference is the ride. The ride felt like i didn't have any shocks or struts it rattled every now and then and was bouncing down the road as i drove. Now I know things happens, but for me when i called back and explain to the Manager he said you need the box that it came in to return it. On my end i no longer had the boxes because its been 3 days and in good faith i that they would send the right ones so i let the mechanic throw the boxes out with the trash. The manager made a big deal about you need the boxes and sorry i can't really help you! So if You buy shock and struts from TRUCKiD.com make sure you received the right shock and struts and remember to keep the boxes that they came in for about 2 week in case something were to go wrong and need to return them.

Money Well Spent!
Bought these to replace the 115k mile original DeCarbon shocks on my '97 Camaro Z28. These shocks definitely delivered a noticeable improvement in handling and refined the way the car feels overall - ride quality is better than before! Although the install is straightforward, it still requires good mechanical knowledge. These shocks did not come with instructions, if you don't know what you're getting yourself into, best to seek professional advice.

Great Quality
Love them but keep in mind if you are going to drive low, you need a very high spring rate. I was using 550 lb fronts and 400 lb rears in the Del Sol B-Series, and the car still bottoms out.

Good Stock Type Shock
Good fitment and nice finish. This shock is a slightly more sporty version of the stock Tokico shocks on the Miata. Does not come with bump stop or boot to protect shaft. These are available as separate items or reused stock pieces.
