Add some custom detail to your vehicle and increase your driving safety at the same time with this eye-catching LED 3rd brake light. LED lights have a much more distinctive look and increased brightness compared with incandescent bulbs, and they illuminate faster as well.

    3rd brake lights, also known as the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) are positioned high on the vehicle to attract attention, alerting drivers behind you when you’re braking. But if your 3rd brake has incandescent bulbs your CHMSL can be improved. LEDs are particularly suited to 3rd brake light applications. Their small compact size makes them easy to group together, and when assembled in this manner, are more luminous than comparable incandescent bulbs, the brighter the light the more visible your vehicle becomes. And they rise to full intensity approximately 200 milliseconds (0.2 seconds) faster than incandescent bulbs, or about 10 times faster. This may not sound like a lot, but it may be all the time that’s needed for the driver behind you to see your brake lights and react to avoid a potential accident.

    As if the safety factor wasn’t enough, these LEDs are housed in an attractive housing that will make a stylish upgrade to your vehicle’s appearance. And those LED lights are extremely durable, with an average lifespan of 50,000-336,000 hours, which means you can forget about ever having to replace them. LEDs are also extremely vibration resistant, an ideal quality for a light mounted on a motor vehicle.

    Poor Fit On My 2016 Silverado
    Bought the light to go with the smoke theme I had on my Spyder tail lights. The OEM light fit tightly and flush with my truck body but this light does not have the retaining clips like the OEM light, so it does not fit tightly or flush with the truck. There is a gap all around the light once installed and it sits out further than the OEM. With and without gasket. A more significant gap at the bottom due to no having those retaining clips. It is held on just by the two screws and the screws do not pull the bottom in tightly. I returned the light because I knew that the fit with such a big gap would eventually leak. Many replacement third brake lights are reviewed to leak as it is. I also did not like the look of it not fitting properly. It is not nearly as bright as the OEM light so if you use your bed lights a lot I would not recommend. The design, in my opinion, was not nearly as sturdy as the OEM. It's an easy install if none of those things bother you. TRUCKiD was helpful with the return.

    Works as it should. Fitment was good. And glad it came with the gasket. But unfortunately the lens is very noticeably clear with a black inset with the LEDs. I was thinking that it had a tinted lens. So it kind of stands out. I will be spray tinting it so it matches my trucks other light housing.

    Bought mine almost a year ago and the seal is already totally worn out and leaked into my headliner plus the lightest came unglued or melted from the housing and poured into my truck, cheap 3m tape and plastics.

    Cargo Light
    Well, the same issue as several other reviews. the cargo light doesn't work. It seems like a resistance problem. When I have my old light plugged in an on, then plug in the LED it works fine for a little while. As soon as I leave it off for more than a few minutes it won't turn on. I have to repeat the process by plugging in my old light first. Please advise if this has been addressed somewhere. Other than that I love it.

    Cargo Light Doesn't Work
    I'll give this one two stars. I was skeptical of buying this based on other reviews, and sadly mine was also defective in the form that the cargo lights do not work. They will come on for a split second when the cargo light is turned on, but they are extremely dim. The light itself looks awesome. The brake LED's works great. The light was easy to install, but like the taillights I ordered, there were no installation instructions. It is obviously only a couple of screws, and plug and play, but it would've been nice to see exactly how the gasket was supposed to fit, as the gasket sent with my light almost appeared to be for a different light. We'll see how the return/exchange process goes.

    Great Unit
    Well packaged. Came exactly as the pictures show the product. Plug and play. Super simple and easy to install. Takes all but 5 minutes. Seals well against the cab but to be on the safe side, doesn't hurt to put an RTV clear silicone seal across the top where you're most prone for a leak. Looks awesome at night. Much brighter than stock and more visually appealing.

    Cool Idea, Poor Quality
    This brake light looks awesome and the LED's look great at night. Unfortunately the build quality on this light is bad and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Mounting the fixture to the body of the truck I realized it sticks out much farther than the OEM light. Before I purchased the light I read multiple reviews that the plastic would crack if you over-tighten the mounting screws. Even thought I mounted the light with care I still had the plastic crack on the initial install. I feel the design of this light is defective because the screw was torqued to 5-10 inch-pounds when the plastic cracked. This seems unreasonable considering the OEM fixtures is torqued to well over 40 inch-pounds without any issues. This gasket is known to leak on dodge pickups and i find it crazy that I'm unable to properly seal this fixture to the cab without having the mounting surface crack.

    Great Upgrade! Easy to Install!
    I got this for my 2013 Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab. Original came off just fine. Use a plastic scraper and some goo-gone to get the original seal off. Once the area is nice and clean, I used the original screws to put the new Spyder 3rd brake light on. Fit like a glove. Simple plug and play connects. Came with some other hardware I did not need to use. Overall, the lights look great and are a huge upgrade to the boring red lens that was original. Glad I purchased!
